Installed by an Electrician that was probably in a hurry…

Can anyone see what is wrong with the above picture?
This is something we see a lot of when we go to jobs that have had previous electricians that are in a hurry and do not care about the quality of their work.
Another pipe could have been added, properly secured and an electrical junction box installed in the attic. Then run an Metal Clad cable out of it to wherever it had to go.
If you want to run Metal Clad (MC) cable you can, just don’t secure it to the existing pipe, it must be secured by itself. MC cable makes a lot of electrical jobs easier to install as long as you follow the rules in the National Electrical Code – it is the preferred method for time saving installs.
There are also other issues I see like the PVC pipe is not strapped and the stick of EMT is not strapped either.
