Smart Home Electrical Installation in Kennesaw, GA
I am currently working on expanding my Insteon Smart Home System.
I started out needing 1 switch in my exposed beam living room to control the lights from both the entry and exit way to the bedroom upstairs, Smart Home allowed this installation with ease and with out having to cut into the walls or run a new wire clear across the house.
So I started simple…

- 1 receiver and
- access points (required for the devices to communicate over power lines)
Now I started getting a bit more into it, I added a…
- scene selector (allows control of multiple devices, lights, etc, from 1 location)
- a few plug in lamp controllers (controlled from scene selector) and
- added the SmartLinc, so I can control everything from my Android smart phone (set up wasn’t terrible, just time consuming)
Now I have added a scene selector in my bedroom with an “emergency all on” feature (if I hear bumps in the night I can turn on all interior lights that are linked) and I added the exterior motion lights so that I can turn them on seperately for the same thing.
The more I put in the more I want! I am considering adding the heating and air control so I can monitor what the temp is and set it accordingly, ever forget to turn off the a/c when you are out of town?
I am even considering the “in wall touch screen control” (very cool for us tech junkies!).
All in all, Insteon has provided me with some useful safety and power saving operations – my kids always forget to turn off the lights before they go to school, the tv as well, and now I can shut them all off from work!
